AQUA S.T.A.R. offers ONE complimentary 30-minute trial per family member. We understand that many parents want to ensure the instructor is the right fit for their children before making a commitment. This trial allows you and your child to enjoy the water experience and make an informed decision.
Yes! Even if you have two students at different skill levels, our experienced instructors can create a brief evaluation to observe how both swimmers perform within the allotted 30 minutes. This allows both children to be assessed and helps us recommend the best lesson plan for each swimmer.
Although instructors giving individual lessons in your location are also the ones willing to travel to your place, we still recommend choosing instructors who are already in your neighbourhood. With the client's permission, we may collect certain data and forward it to the instructor; however, it is ultimately up to the instructor to decide whether or not to travel beyond their service area. A distance fee may apply for locations outside the instructor's standard coverage area.
At AQUA S.T.A.R., we prioritize flexibility and convenience for our clients. That's why we offer a unique 24-hour rescheduling policy.
If your child falls ill unexpectedly or you encounter unforeseen circumstances, you can reschedule your swim lesson up to 24 hours before its start time. Simply log in to your account, navigate to your booking, and select a new time that works for you.
Valid reasons for rescheduling include:
- Illness or injury
- Unspecified family emergency or personal crisis
- Doctor or specialist appointments
- Traffic congestion or car trouble
- Rain, snow, or severe weather
- Aches, pains, or sprains
- Women's menstruation
- Emergency dental work
- Forgetfulness or mistakes made when booking
While we aim for excellence, we understand that adjustments may be necessary, especially for first-time users. We're committed to providing exceptional service and ensuring you get the most out of your swim lessons with us.
At AQUA S.T.A.R., we aim to provide fair and transparent refund options for our clients. Here's how it works:
- Unused lesson credits are retained on your account indefinitely, offering flexibility for future use
- Refunds are subject to a 25% restocking fee to cover administrative and processing costs
Important Note: Lessons already completed within your package will be charged at the single lesson rate or the original price based on the instructor rank selected.

We primarily serve the Lower Mainland of British Columbia including Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, Langley, Coquitlam, and surrounding areas. For mobile lessons, we come to your home pool. For lifeguarding services, we operate nationwide across Canada.
We're Canada's only swim school offering ICBC water rehabilitation services with physiotherapists and kinesiologists. We also provide mobile lessons at your home pool, specialized autism support, nationwide lifeguarding services, and athletic training — all with instructors ranging from 3 to 20+ years of experience.
AQUA S.T.A.R. Swim Lessons
Once you have decided which individual pricing plan works for you, you are ready to book online in your backend account. You are welcome to arrange lessons as often as you want, on days and times that work best for you, and there is no minimum number of lessons required to book.
Payment for a lesson grants you one hour of time with your instructor in a pool of your choosing (or at one of our common locations). It is up to you and your swimming instructor to figure out how to best use that time.
AQUA S.T.A.R. ensures excellent efficiency and rapid results by teaching a maximum of two students simultaneously in the water. This allows for personalized attention while still offering the benefits of peer learning.
Our mobile private swim lessons bring the instructor to your doorstep! If you have a private pool in your home, condo, or apartment, simply choose an instructor near your location, and they'll come to you.
When they arrive, ensure they match their photo from our website, guide them to your changing area, and let the private swim lesson begin hassle-free!
Shared pool swim lessons allow us to utilize local businesses' pools or even private homeowners' pools that they're willing to rent out. Each shared pool has its own set of rules and regulations, so it's essential to adhere to them to maintain a positive relationship with our hosts.
If shared pool options are available in your area, you can select them during your search. We're continually expanding our service areas, so if there's no shared pool near you yet, rest assured we're working on it.

Just bring a swimsuit and towel! We provide all necessary equipment including flotation devices, goggles, and learning aids. For mobile lessons, ensure your pool area is accessible and clean. Don't forget sunscreen for outdoor pools!
Every child learns at their own pace, but with private lessons, most children show significant improvement within 8-10 sessions. Factors like age, comfort level in water, and practice frequency all play a role. Some children are swimming independently after just a few lessons!
Yes! We offer semi-private lessons for up to 3 swimmers of similar skill levels. This is a great way to save money while still receiving personalized attention. Contact us for semi-private pricing and availability.
We offer Parent-Tot classes for children as young as 6 months old. These classes focus on water comfort and safety with parent participation. Independent lessons typically start around age 3, depending on the child's readiness.
Lesson Plan Options
We have created two awesome purchase options for our clients:
- Lesson Package: (5 – 50 Lessons)
- Subscription Plan: (1 – 4 Lessons per week)
These two options are an all-rounded system from which our clients can benefit.
Our lesson packages are designed to offer flexibility and savings for our clients. You can choose between packages for 1 or 2 swimmers, starting from a minimum of 5 lessons up to 50 lessons.
The more lessons you purchase, the greater the discount, up to 20% off. We offer both payment plans and one-time payments for your convenience. Once you've purchased a package, you can book lessons freely in your account, without any restrictions on how many you can book in a day or week.
Our subscription plans give clients the convenience of scheduling regular lessons with automatic payments. You can choose from options like:
- 1 lesson per week
- 2 lessons per week
- 3 lessons per week
- 4 lessons per week
Which equates to a total of 4, 8, 12, or 16 lessons per month, respectively.
With this plan, you can schedule lessons for any date within the current payment period, making it easy to maintain a consistent swimming schedule for your child.
After completing a trial assessment, clients can choose a subscription with their instructor, selecting how many lessons they want per week:
- 1 lesson per week
- 2 lessons per week
- 3 lessons per week
- 4 lessons per week
The subscription provides both the original and discounted cost per lesson every 4 weeks. Once started, clients pay for the first 28 days, and their subscription automatically renews every 28 days until cancelled. Renewals charge the saved card and add hours for the next 28 days of lessons.
Our clients can change their plan at any time. Downgrades take effect at the end of the payment period. Upgrades happen immediately (students pay for the next month according to the new plan and have any unused hours from their previous plan carried over).
We offer a flexible 24-hour reschedule policy. Simply notify us at least 24 hours before your lesson, and we'll find a new time that works for you. We understand that life happens — kids get sick, schedules change!
Absolutely! We encourage consistency. Once you find an instructor and time that works, you can book recurring lessons to maintain continuity in learning. This helps build trust and accelerates progress.
We recommend booking at least 1-2 weeks in advance to secure your preferred time slot. However, we often have last-minute availability, so don't hesitate to check even if you need lessons sooner!
Help for Parents & Clients
Using the right permission, both students and instructors may document their lessons with photographs and videos. Filming in non-public areas like bathrooms, showers, and changing rooms is strictly forbidden.
Clients and students are encouraged to document their courses via photography and videography, with the understanding that permission has been discussed and granted in advance. Instructors may do the same with their older kids or those whose parents have given their permission.

After registering for an account on our website, you must schedule a 30-minute trial assessment with one of our private swim instructors.
After that, you'll be able to examine our pricing options: 'Lesson Package' OR 'Subscription Plan' and choose what would work best for your scenario.
Once you've chosen your preferred instructor for the 30-minute trial assessment, they'll be your instructor for private swim lessons unless there are significant issues.
If you wish to change to a different-ranked instructor, we'll do our best to accommodate. You may need to adjust your payment accordingly.
To change your lesson date or time, do so at least 24 hours before your scheduled lesson to avoid it being considered void. You can easily make changes in your account or ask an instructor for assistance.
It's essential to dress appropriately for swim lessons, especially if you or your children are sensitive to cold temperatures.
While we strive to maintain comfortable pool temperatures, not all locations may have regulated heating. We recommend wearing a bathing suit along with an additional layer like a 2mm wetsuit to ensure warmth, particularly in pools with fluctuating temperatures.

AQUA S.T.A.R. has taken an extra step to ensure the instructor and client can get in touch if something comes up, such as traffic jams, injury, or not feeling great. Client and instructor can exchange messages to notify each other, so this way, clients can minimize the chance of missing any lessons if it needs to be rescheduled or not.
Step 1: You must have created an account (Subscriber/Post-Trial/Member).

Pricing & Payment
Our pricing is based on instructor experience level and lesson duration. We have 5 experience tiers from Foundation (0-2 years) to Platinum (15+ years). For mobile lessons, we offer lesson packages. For shared pool locations, we use a subscription model. Visit our Pricing page for detailed rates.
We accept e-transfer to info@aquastarcanada.com, credit cards via Stripe, and installment payments for larger packages. Payment is required at the time of booking to secure your spot.
No hidden fees! Our pricing is transparent. The quoted price includes the lesson, instructor time, and all necessary equipment. All lessons are tax included. There are no registration fees or cancellation fees (with 24-hour notice).
For mobile lessons, the first 5km from the instructor's location is free. Beyond 5km, a distance fee of $0.98/km applies. You can minimize this by choosing an instructor closest to your location using our interactive map.

Special Needs & Adaptive Aquatics
Absolutely! We have extensive experience working with children on the autism spectrum. Our instructors are patient, adaptive, and trained to create a supportive learning environment. We've helped dozens of families achieve amazing results. We're also an AFU (Autism Funding Unit) approved provider.
We're an ICBC provider offering water-based rehabilitation programs. Working with physiotherapists and kinesiologists, we help individuals recover from injuries through guided aquatic therapy. This is a unique service — no other swim school in Canada offers this!
Yes, we work with swimmers of all abilities. Our adaptive aquatics program is designed to accommodate physical disabilities, sensory sensitivities, and various learning needs. Contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
We specialize in helping fearful swimmers overcome their anxiety. Our gentle, patient approach focuses on building trust and confidence at the swimmer's pace. Many of our success stories started with children who were initially terrified of water!
Lifeguard Services
All our lifeguards hold current National Lifeguard Service (NLS) certification, Standard First Aid, and CPR-C. Many also have additional certifications in aquatic emergency care and pool operations.
We recommend booking at least 2-3 weeks in advance, especially during peak summer season (June-August). For last-minute bookings, please call us directly at 236-326-SWIM.
No, our lifeguards come fully equipped with all necessary safety equipment including rescue tubes, first aid kits, and communication devices. You only need to provide access to the pool area.
The number of lifeguards depends on your pool size and expected attendance. As a general guideline: 1 lifeguard for up to 25 swimmers, 2 lifeguards for 25-50 swimmers, and 3+ lifeguards for larger events.
Yes! We partner with third-party party service companies to offer complete birthday packages that include pool space rental and party planning. Contact us for package details and pricing.
Yes, you can rent our shared pool locations for private events and parties. All pool parties include a certified lifeguard for safety. Contact us to check availability and pricing.
