Since I started swimming at the age of 5, I quickly fell in love with it. My parents first enrolled me in club swimming when I was in China for a few month before coming to Canada.

After arriving here, I continued swimming with Swim Kids completing up to Level 9. At that time, my parents started looking for other options as I did not reach the age requirement for Level10 and that’s when I started competitive swimming. At the age of 8, I was quick to learn and trained hard to reach the time goals that were set for my age group at the time. After about a year of training, I was qualified to race in my first provincial meet. Soon after that, I started training even harder and continued to be a competitive swimmer until 2019.

In 2020, I stopped training competitively due to COVID, but did not stop my journey in swimming. I wanted to share my knowledge and the joy of swimming to the next generation of swimmers. With this simple thought in mind, I started teaching privately and also for swim clubs in lower mainland. I shared my knowledge not only on the fundamental techniques of swimming, but also sportsmanship and mental health with swimmers who were new to clubs or veterans. 

I hope that by joining AquaStar, I can continue my journey in training and teaching new swimmers to find out that water is not all that scary and can be fun!
